Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic disorder for which there is no known cure. Fortunately in the last few years, a shift in strategy toward the earlier institution of disease modifying drugs and the availability of new classes of medications have greatly improved the outcomes that can be expected by most patients. The goal of treatment now aims toward achieving the lowest possible level of arthritis disease activity and remission if possible, the minimization of joint damage, and enhancing physical function and quality of life. The optimal treatment of RA requires a comprehensive program that combines medical, social, and emotional support for the patient. It is essential that the patient and the patient’s family be educated about the nature and course of the disease. Strategies are all aimed at reducing pain and discomfort, preventing deformities and loss of joint function, and maintaining a productive and active life. Inflammation must be suppressed and mechanical and structural abnormalities corrected or compensated by assistive devices. Treatment options include medications, reduction of joint stress, physical and occupational therapy, and surgical intervention.

Hey ladies, and guys too. I am just wondering when you were TTC how long did it take you to get pregnant? I have only been trying since April, which I know compared to some is a very small amount of time, but I am just worried. We usually have sex about every other day, most of the time at night and it’s always missionary (sorry TMI). Periodically in the morning, on the weekends as we both wake up at 4-5am for work. I also lay there for about 5-10 minutes after. I know it depends on the women and I am probably expecting this to quickly but I am just afraid we’ll have issues. I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis which the docs cleared me for pregnancy and said if I had issues it would not be related to that, it would be regular infertility issues, but I am still nervous. Is this normal? How long did it take you? Is there any tips anyone can share with me on how their TTC became a success? I started the prenatal vitamin, baby aspirin, and calcium as the docs advised but what else worked for you? And good luck to all of the TTC future mommies out there!

Arthritis sufferers today are still continually seeking relief from their arthritis pain. I found relief from my arthritis pain, naturally, and you can do it too. In osteoarthritis, any one or more affected joints experience a progressive loss of cartilage, which is the slippery material that cushions the ends of bones.
Osteoarthritis is a chronic disease of the joint cartilage and bone, often thought to result from “wear and tear” on a joint, although there are other causes of arthritis such as congenital defects, trauma and metabolic disorders. Osteoarthritis affects joints in a different way depending on their location in the body, causing various symptoms.

Arthritis can be a debilitating, degenerative, crippling disease that only gets worse over time. Although there is no “cure”, it is essential to improve your bodies overall nutrition and health. Because of the processed foods we eat, and the sedentary lifestyle we live, most people lack the proper amounts of minerals, nutrients, and vitamins our bodies need to be completely healthy. If a person engages in the right amounts of exercise, combined with a consistent, well balanced diet, the body is able to fend off medical problems of all sorts. Inflammation is often a result of a weak immune system, and cartilage and bone will stay stronger, longer with the correct nutritional diet. A strong immune system also helps fight all types of infections, from viruses to bacteria. If a virus or bacteria is able to break past the immune system and infect the body, it can magnify the effects of a disorder like arthritis. Most people who are currently living a healthy, nutritious life have already heard this however…so what about the people who currently have arthritis?
Well, living a healthy lifestyle of diet and exercise can be even more important for those diagnosed with arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is particularly debilitating, and approx. 6 out of 10 people diagnosed with it become disabled in 10 years or less. This is a very real problem, but this disability can be slowed down for many if they adopt a healthy lifestyle! So lets take a closer look at the two most basic changes that can be made for real arthritis relief.
