Question by Sayhello969: What is a new medication that starts with a “L” that treats rheumatoid arthritis? See below?
My doc wants to prescribe this new medication but I can’t remember the name. I know it starts with a L. He said it’s not an anti-inflammatory or a steroid but it’s a separate class of drugs that works on the nerve endings.

Having a hard time looking for a rheumatoid arthritis medication? How will you find a good one? Let’s discuss rheumatoid arthritis and new arthritis treatment in this article.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is one of the most common problems that go with aging. It is a progressive and degenerative disease wherein the joints wear out because of decreased lubrication and over-usage. This is common to women because they are prone to stress and hormonal imbalances as well as to those people who have jobs that requires repetitive movements like factory workers, secretaries and the like. Risk factors for RA include chronic stress, family history of arthritis and other rheumatic illness, cigarette smoking and alcohol abuse, fatty and salty diet, lack of exercise, and weakened immunity. These factors contribute a lot in the progression of the problem as well as the reoccurrence of the disease.

Question by .: Help Paying for My Rheumatoid arthritis medication?
Enbrel is the only medication that has ever worked for my RA pain. My insurance claims that there is a $ 2,000 limit on drugs and that it has expired from using Enbrel. Neither the insurance or the Enbrel company can help since payment assistance programs cannot help you unless you have no insurance at all. I cannot even afford half of the $ 1,550 price of the Medication. Please any advice? The limit won’t reset until next year and I cannot wait that long.

A large stage three trial of an experimental rheumatoid arthritis medication, tasocitinib, has met two important goals – the drug provided an improvement in signs and symptoms of the disease in study participants, and it improved their ability to function physically. The study also made some progress towards a third goal – disease remission.  “When it works, it really works,” enthused primary investigator Dr. Roy Fleischmann of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, “This is the first oral medication for rheumatoid arthritis that has had a successful phase three study this century.”

Is there certain medication that should not be taken with Sarcoidosis. I have recently lost someone to this diease who was being treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis. She was receciving a weekly injection ( not quite sure of the full name but its nickname is Gold Injection) and i’m just wondering if this would have effected her in anyway as she was told she could not have it one week because of having just a cold?
Also do doctors find it really hard to diagnois between the 2 illnesses or should it have been picked up over the past year and a half? She had all the symptons and now we have researched it, it seems obvious to us, should the doctor not spent time looking over his notes a bit more to realise the treatment for artheritis wasn’t work??

How do I get her to take her medication?

Okay, so my girlfriend and I have been together for about a year and a half now, and she has severe depression and is on Cymbalta. She recently stopped taking her medication a month ago because she feels it “controls her life.” Our relationship has been rocky from the start, but has never been this bad. She has JRA, also known as Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, and stopped taking her Methatrexate, which is a steroidal medication to stop the inflammation of joints. She stopped taking that medication as well to try out acupuncture. So amidst all of this she has been off of the medication that has helped her feel happy, as well as the medication that keeps her from pain.

She gets mad at me for the littlest things. Tonight, I said she couldn’t come over because I am not feeling well and need to sleep. I will see her tomorrow. She flipped out on me and told me that I am not trying at all and that I don’t care about her or love her. This has happened about ten times since she stopped taking her medication.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and I do not take medication for it(the medications I’ve been on in the past caused stomach issues and if I control my diet I can usually control the RA). I am in a lot of pain today, the weather is not helping with this in one bit. Does anyone know of anything that I can do to help relieve the pain without medicine? I don’t have any Tylenol left and no money to buy some right now.

I have RA in my hands, wrists, knees and right ankle. Any suggestions to help relieve pain right now would be great…thank you!
