Arthritis pain can be caused by many factors and affects everyone differently. The inflammation process causes redness and swelling in joints and around her, over time it begins to damage the joint and the joint tissues. This results in the arthritis pain that is caused by stress on your joints, which can begin to cause injury and pressure that can become unbearable. People have been known to become stressed or even depressed as a result of limited circulation and are not able to do activities that were once beyond their everyday lives, this is called a cycle of pain and arthritis will become more difficult to deal with this disease.
Arthritis can be a very difficult musculoskeletal condition. There’s the pain and swelling that appear in the affected area, as well as an opportunity to be restrained and tied to the bed while you’re letting the pain subsides. For severe arthritis attacks like these, people are usually advised to take pain relievers to manage the symptoms and discomfort caused by joint disease.

Joint tissue breaks down and arthritis sets in for a number of reasons, and there are several natural alternatives for joint health that can be use to prevent this and to treat affected joints.
Thyroid problems can slow down the production of adrenal hormones that are responsible for the production of cortisone and cosrtisol. These are anti-inflammatories, that when unavailable or in low supply can result in joint inflammation. If you suffer joint pain in the mornings that tends to improve as the day goes on, then it is likely that is the cause since adrenal activity can improve as the day progresses.
One of the main reasons for joint tissue breakdown is osteoarthritis whereby the cartilage wears down until it fails to provide the necessary protection against impact between the bones in a joint, or against the friction generated when two bones rub together. Injuries to joints can have the same effect, whereby an injury to a hip or knee can appear to clear up and then later the cartilage wears out sooner than expected. This can take several months or many years, depending on the severity and nature of the injury concerned.

Have you ever suffered from arthritis? Many of us often have misconceptions about certain medical conditions. For instance, because elderly people often suffer from arthritis, we may conclude that it cannot affect younger people. That is wrong. Also, arthritis itself is technically not a disease. With about 70 million people affected with joint pain in the U.S. alone, more and more sufferers are looking for effective means of achieving joint pain relief. Joint pain can be caused by many factors such as old age, hereditary conditions, diseases and neglect. Determining what causes your joint pain is essential because if the pain is not properly addressed, more importantly if a serious disease has brought about the pain, certain complications can arise. This will lead to more pain and discomfort for the sufferer.
There are many factors which can cause joint pain. Some of the less complicated conditions associated with pain of the joints include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and gout. Osteoarthritis is the most common type and it occurs when the protective cartilage which covers the bones wears and tears away. This can then lead to the rubbing of the bones together. Because of the friction, pain and swelling is induced and it worsens when the cartilage is further damaged. Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic joint condition which is less common than osteoarthritis. It is autoimmune in nature because the body’s immune function causes the joint to swell and causes inflammation that can eventually spread to the other tissues. The last one, which is gout, affects the knees, toes and wrists and has something to do with the uric acid deposit build-up. This can bring forth the formation of needle like crystals and can be very painful for the joints.

This condition can cause many problems for sufferers, including loss of grip and, of course, a great deal of pain. But what are its causes and is there a remedy?
Thumb arthritis usually occurs after the age of forty and is more common in women than in men. The first symptom of thumb arthritis is usually pain experienced at the base of the thumb when gripping an object or when applying force – say to turn a key or open the lid of a jar. This form of osteoarthritis can make these simple household tasks difficult as it limits the strength and range of motion of the thumb.
Other symptoms may include swelling, stiffness and tenderness at the base of the thumb, decreased strength when grasping objects, enlarged appearance or a ‘bony’ look to the base of the thumb and general discomfort and aching after use.

The years of teaching high impact aerobics are catching up with me. Sure it’s been great for the ticker, but the knees on the other hand are showing signs of age and making icky noises. What my Physical Therapist friends call “creep” and “crepitus” (which is just nice technical way of saying “grinding”) had become loud enough to be heard by the naked ear! At the rate I was going – I was sure I’d need a knee replacement by 40. Of course this just won’t do. So I’ve taken to doing leg extensions regularly and… taking glucosamine.
Glucosamine – What’s That?

Would you believe doctor’s recommend a good diet and exercise. Seems to be a recurrent theme with all our ailments! Be careful with the exercise though, jogging for example can jar the knees and hips. Most gyms have low impact cardio equipment such as bikes and cross-trainers. So, if you think pounding the tread mill is doing more harm than good, get on your bike!
Rheumatoid arthritis has been linked to food allergy or intolerance. If you suspect this is the cause of your condition then you need to follow an exclusion diet to pinpoint the allergen(s). Your GP should be able to give advice on this and there are medical sites, which will help. The usual suspects are wheat and dairy products, but there are others, such as soya and citrus fruits.
