Question by freckles: could lumps in back be a sign of lymphoma?
My mom has these lumps in her back kind of under the skin, and she has had them for sometime now. She went to the doctor and one told her it was prob. due to her lupus and one told her it was just tissue build up. She is taking a medical assistant class and her instructor who is a RN told her that she would go have them looked at again for another opinion, because in a recent lung x ray there was some strange dark spot that appeared but no in a place where cancer is normally found, which she said lymphoma can cause strange spots like that to appear. She was being treated for a lung infection. I have read that lymphoma can cause swollen lymph nodes in the neck, groin, armpits and organs like the spleen etc. but haven’t seen anything about the actual back.
could it be a sign of lymphoma.?
also she has been told it could be a result of her lupus or even her rheumatoid arthritis could this be it?
she hasn’t really had much other symptoms the only fever she has had is when she had bronchitis, and hasn’t had one since finishing her antibiotics.but i have also read that in early stages no signs may appear. she has had these lumps for years.

We have all at some point or another, experienced minor symptoms like brittle nails, stuffy noses, etc… and have brushed these symptoms off like they were no big deal. What the majority of people don’t realize is that when these simple symptoms are persistent it could really mean something far more serious. Just to give you an example we’ve listed five things your body could be telling you about a more serious problem.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I am 27 (I have had it since the age of 7). My recent blood work just came back showing very low Vitamin D levels, even though they were normal 3 months ago. I have to go on Vitamin D treatments for the next 16 weeks. I am just nervous because I have not been feeling good lately and I don’t know if there could be something else going on. Can anyone help with some insight?

there are no wounds or cuts. her right hind leg is hard and swollen.. she started losing her apetite and even vomitted twice. she already has difficulty walking. sitting up or lying down/sleeping..=( i asked the vet clinic what possible med/treatment they could advise.. they said its either osteo or rheumatoid arthritis.. i looked up for the 2nd one, and it seemed the case is just that.. i asked for a 2nd opinion on another vet, and they say she needs to be x-rayed first.. im thinking what possible treatment to give to lessen the inflammation/pain.. is there any way?

Hello, I have been having some weird symptoms lately that make me wonder if I could have rheumatoid arthritis. I’ve been getting knee pain in my knees for about 1.5 or 2 months now. At first it would wake me up in the early morning and be extremely stiff and painful to move. After moving for a few seconds, it was better. That hasn’t happened in a while and now it just bothers me slightly every day. It is mostly my right leg. My knee joints hurt in the rainy weather, and are bothersome to bend. It doesn’t hurt too bad, but is constant. Sometimes, especially after some walking, my right knee joint gets slightly swollen and a bit warm to the touch.
I also have an autoimmune disease, Hashimoto thyroiditis. I have been overweight for 5 years, and have gotten a bit heavier this last year. I am a girl, and 23 years old. I am wondering if this is consistent with rheumatoid arthritis, or if it could just be due to being overweight.

I developed RA synovial fluid buildup in my elbows within two months after an ankle injury. Although the doctors say it is a combination of having a susceptible gene and unknown causes, I think the ankle injury triggered RA in my case.
Did your RA develope after an injury?

I have had progressing stiffness and pain in my hands, wrists, and elbows. I didn’t see a doctor, because I just figured it was mild carpal tunnel. Well the pain and stiffness has got worse and worse. I also have another strange symptom that has developed over the last few months that I previously ignored.
I have chronic ear pain and temporal headaches. I went to a doctor, and they confirmed I did NOT have an ear infection, and told me it was stress. LOL

For approximately a year or two I have had bad joint pains in my knees. To begin with it was just really painful when bent at a certain angle during and after excessive bending or exercise. My knee’s also used to pop a lot.
September of last year I was tested for rheumatoid’s testing for rheumatoid arthritis and rheumatism, my blood’s came back normal.
My aching knee’s then gradually got worse being painful all the time but some times the pain would be excruciating usually after sudden changes of humidity or temperature or extreme tiredness and sometimes they swell slightly on top. But, now the pain has also traveled up into my hips.
I’m 16 and struggle to stand up for too long or sit down for too long I can’t walk long distances and I can’t run at all I can’t go upstairs and now I can barely walk up onto the pavement and I can’t lift my own legs by themselves. I’m now having to use my hands to move and bend my legs.
I’m also having trouble with my shoulders too which are now also constantly popping like my hips/pelvis (not sure which) and my knee’s, and my elbows also pop (the pop itself is excruciating) when lifting a bag straight up bending my arm at the elbow and then letting it drop.
I’ve also just been tested for celiac’s disease as joint trouble can also indicate this.
My mother suggested Lupus but this is highly unlikely as it is slow and degenerative and usually isn’t noticeable until later years.
Can someone PLEASE suggest something else I can be tested for before I end up in a wheel chair because myself, my mother (who is a nurse) and my two available GP’s have ran out of idea’s.
Please don’t forget that what ever this may be is acually progressive and is getting worse and is more joints than just my knees, so the possibility of it being muscle, tendon or ligament related is unlikely unless there is something that could affect the muscle’s, ligaments or tendons in all these places at once.
