I have heard this is successful in helping symptoms os rheumatoid arthritis. I have a friend recently diagnosed with RA and has been looking for natural remedies to help with the joint pain. Has anyone tried it?

My friend used to be 140 lbs in high school but at the end of her senior year she got the birth control shot. In one year she gained 80 lbs. She went to the doctors and her hormones are all screwed up. She has Arthritis and she is borderline of pre- diabetes. I’m very concerned for her. She exercises 4 times a week for 45 minutes. she either sometimes eats bad or she will only eat 1 or 2 times a day. I dont know how to help her. She really is trying but the weight wont seem to come off. She tries to put on a front and joke around about her weight but i know that she is hurting inside. She likes this one guy but never tries to persue him becuz she thinks he wont like her becuz she is bigger. Also her mom is always making horrible comments about how she is fat and its awful. I’m afraid that her extra weight with arthritis will cripple her, she is only 22 yrs old and has been diagnosed with juvenille rheumatoid arthtitis since she was a baby. Does anyone have advice on how i can help her?

I am 16 and my doctor told me i have JRA but before that the problem that lead to me being diagnosed wtih JRA was Metatarsus Adductus or a curvation of the metatarsal bones. So my question is can arthritis cause my bones in my feet to curve?

Im 34 and have had RA since I was 24. It doesnt run in my family I just have it. I just wondered will all the medication ever stop or will I be on it the rest of my life. Also is there a chance my son or daughter could get it? Ive heard it’s hereditary, but not in my case. What does my future hold with this disease?

My 58-year-old mother was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. She’s having a very tough time and is just miserable. It particularly bad in the mornings (from what I’ve read, this is common). She often ends up crying from pain and frustration. It is leaving her crippled.
Her rheumatologist and doctors have prescribed a cocktail of medications, pain relievers, and steroids, but little seems to really help. I’m trying to persuade her to try acupuncture.

I seemed to have given you people the wrong impression about myself. I sold my home 2 years ago to move in with them to take care of my 3 grandchildren and do household and laundry chores while my son-in-law and daughter work outside the home. I was diagnosed last year with cancer of the eye, diabetes mellitus, rheumatoid arthritis, and COPD to name just a few of my health problems. However, I am still caring for the children and doing my daily chores. I have applied for disability but it has not been settled yet. I have no money at this time as I helped them get into this new house with the money I had when I sold my own home. So please understand I am not a freeloader by any means. I just used the term our house because I live here. It really is not my house. Some of the answers below have been pretty mean-spirited and not very helpful. Get rid of all your sarcasim and pointing the finger at me and just answer my question. I really need some good advice right now.

I have RA and have been treated in the past with Remicade–got very sick and was in the hospital and was told not to take it again. I was just told that the Rheumatologist wants me to take Enbrel. I am afraid that I might end up with plural effusion again if I do. Have any of you had any information about that? Enbrel and Remicade are in the same drug class. I would appreciate any websites, or informatio so that I can make an informed decision. Go ahead and e-mail me at either ynda301@sbcglobal.net or ahdrmd@msn.com . I would appreciate any help that you can give me.Thank-You

I am currently unsatisfied with my treatment. I am taking hydroxychloriquine & asulfasalizine [spelling is most definately wrong]. I was hopeful when I saw an ad for Orencia, however it is not yet covered under my health plan. I am looking for suggestions for treatments that have worked for other RA sufferers.
