Is there any other alternatives for treating rheumatoid arthritis other than prescription medicines?
is there really a cure or any way to reverse it? is there any supplements that can be taken that would be effective, if so what are they? i’ve been on many different pain medications before but now i just started taking methotrexate and now also celebrex and i know the long term side effects are not good. so i am looking for different alternatives if there are any..

You should try and find a naturopath who uses electronic diagnosis techniques as opposed to iridology (which I feel is not accurate enough). I have been seeing them for over 30 yrs now and have read hundreds of books on natural therapies and natural living and I personally feel there is a connection with hundreds of illnesses and the acidity levels of the body. There are books written on the subject (Alkalize or die by Theodore A Baroody). Acidity is increased in the body by eating too much bad food, e.g. canned food, sugar is a huge problem too. It’s important to keep your PH levels balanced. Start eating only fresh food – fruits, veg, whole grains and meats/fish and nothing else. If you can relate to eating badly like this for a long time then you will agree this is a problem. You can start the ball rolling by getting some alkalizer, in Australia we have Ural (which is used for urinary infections but is an alkalizer) and this is what my naturopath put me on but there is also Eno and Alka Seltzer. I was told to take one dose a day for 3 days then leave it for a while before taking again. Go find your own naturopath and get healed. Good luck.
Rub the affected area with a fluorite stone and essential oil. Let me share one example with you. What if you are depressed? The doctor will give you a pill, some type of antidepressant, that may have various side effects and yes, most of them do. What if you decided to use a natural anti depressant by working with a Lithium Quartz crystal or a Lepidolite tumble. If this crystal helped to relieve some of your symptoms, would you not try it? I know of several people who have shared their experiences as they weaned themselves off of their antidepressants and now enjoy great success in using crystals (like lithium in quartz, lepidolite, etc) instead. This is called crystal healing. Let’s take it a step further. Everything contains energy. That includes our bodies and mind. This can be scientifically proved by various brain wave technology, electrography, etc. Everything contains energy. This energy can be of a high frequency (raising our vibration), a low frequency (grounding) and everything in between. If your body is sick, your energy is low. This is because the body is working diligently to remove infection, toxins, etc. A fever (a type of energy) may present as an indicator that the body is using its amazing abilities to repair itself. Using all of the energy it has, it works overtime to remove the “invaders” from the body. Fluorite is relatively cheap, and is sold in many stores.
Taking pain medication just helps to control the pain but not the condition. Citrus, tomatoes and sea food aggravates arthritis, so try to stay away as possible. Like the first answer, body alkalinity is very important and can cause many health problems. Many times the stiffness, swelling and pain is related to the uric acid level in the body. When the uric acid level is high, it builds up in the joints especially, blocks the fluids and start crystallizing causing those conditions. I would advice to get Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplement, they help to control inflammation, rebuild the cartilage and strengthen the bones. Product for controlling gout will help to level the alkalinity.
I am using Joint Lub for the arthritis and DePurine for the uric acid control, both made by MegaCare Inc. Using it for couple of months, I hardly have any pain. Please check their website and give it a try.
I have done accupuncture for about 6 years. I am doing really well and have not had a flare up for years at this point. I was on methotrexate at one time as well. Now I take nothing, except for the herbs and supplements recommended by my accupuncturist. I also do yoga and it helps immensely w/ the loss of flexibility that happened years earlier.
MonaVie is an excellent product in their product line they have MonaVie Active which would be great for arthritis and pains. It’s pure %100 fruit juice with the acai berry, the active contains plant based glucosamine which is good for joint health. I’ve been drinking it for a couple months now and it’s done good for me, worth looking into. You can read about it and try it here. http://improvedliving.mymonavie.com/
Hi Sasha,
Rheumatoid Arthritis is associated with mitochondrial dysfunction. Read the full research here:

Recent clinical trials have demonstrated the benefits of a functional food called Alpha-PSP on autoimmune diseases. Alpha PSP can work to correct degenerative health problems and metabolic disorders at the cellular level. This will be a better solution than just fighting the pain caused by arthritis.

I have had success using electro-stimulation together with topically applied DMSO. As pathogens are attenuated by electrical discharges there is sound science in passing a low electric discharge through affected tissue. Have used a Bob Beck zapper, a Tens machine and an EMS stimulator with similar benefit from all. The DMSO, which should be pharmacy quality, is absorbed into the skin and provides short term pain relief while the electrical discharge seems to provide longer term, if not permanent, benefit.
As a precaution do not place the terminals of the Zapper in a position where it may discharge through your heart or brain and test for sensitivity to DMSO. There is plenty of information about the Bob Beck protocol and using DMSO on the internet.

My mother swore by a foul mixture of fresh garlic mixed to a paste with honey – to eat not put on your joints.
I don’t know if it was coincidence but it worked.
