I would like to adopt and infant but I think there will be problems…?
My husband and I have been married for two years now. We are both about to turn 21 in a few months as well. We actually got pregnant with our own child by miracle and after three months of his short life, he passed away.
I have rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and endometriosis. I have been having trouble with infertility and am frankly scared to even get pregnant again. I do not know a whole lot about adoption, but I am almost finished with my degree in early childhood education, general education, child nutrition, and family and consumer sciences. i have experience with children and we really want to adopt. I want to know what my chances are for adoption? Adopting an infant-American or foreign? and what are the steps/who to call/where to start? I live in Indiana

I am so sorry to hear about the baby that you lost..that is so rough and I am sure it was like a near hell experience. I think that your chances of adopting a child are really high..since you studied it and what not that gives you more of a chance because it shows that you are educated. What you need to do is look online/telephone books for adoption agencies. They may not be in your state though…I babysit for a couple that live in NJ but they adopted twins from Louisiana so they had t travel but its worth it if you really want the child/children. Just call some adoption agencies and that is where you could get started! once you do that they can help you out more about what to do and etc. I know that it does take a while..you have to go through parenting classes..fill out a lot of papers..get a lawyer..have someone inspect your house..etc. Take care and best of luck…I suggest you do the adoption! It’s a great thing!!
take care!
Call your local Children’s Home Society and apply for adoption. They do open and closed and are FABULOUS!
