How to get prescribed Vicodin?
Been having really bad pain due to my Rheumatoid Arthritis in my knees and ankles and the doctor won’t do anything except tell me to take some Tylenol.
I went to a different doctor and he prescribed me Darvocet, which again does nothing more than Tylenol/Aspirin/Advil. He even raised the dosage and i can’t feel a difference or pain relief.
I’m 17 and understand that teens abuse drugs, but i can’t even have a serious conversation with these college-educated doctors without them assuming something that i’m not aiming for. (Abusing it)
I’m pin-pointing Vicodin only because my mom will occasionally give me one or two for the day. It helps my pain a lot. I wouldn’t say it cures it and makes it absent, but, it sure has a relief effect that i can’t seem to achieve taking anything else. She has 7.5mg hydrocone and 10mg hydrocone vicodin’s, which are 750mg and 1000mg prospectively.
How would i get my doctor to prescribe me something similar to my mother’s prescription? She has hers for Rheumatoid Arthritis too, but since i’m 17, i can’t be taken seriously i guess. I can’t tell my doctor, “Oh yeah, my mom gives me 1 or 2 and i pop em and a lot of my pain is gone for quite a while.”
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Actually if you tell the doctor that you have been taking Vicodin and it’s working, he’ll see that it does the job and will prescribe it for you. If you tell him it was your moms he would see that she trusts you and that should be good enough for him. You have to have COURAGE!!
It’s not that they think you’re trying to abuse it, it’s that it IS a very addictive drug. If it wasn’t so addicting, they probably would have given you Vicodin or some sort of equivelent. They are right to be wary of giving someone your age an opiate to take regularly. Even though you don’t intend on abusing it, you can still become addicted to it. No one “intends” on being an addict, but very often people have become addicted to painkillers this way.
After a while your body can get used to the Vicodin, and you’ll need more to treat the symptoms. That will increase the risk of dependency and adverse effects on your health.
I’m not saying that you’re irresponsible, but that a doctor does not want to risk giving a habit-forming opiate to a teenager.
go see doctor house and tell him you’ll split the script with him.
Vicodin is a somewhat strong drug and it does come with side effects as do them all………..but I do know of a natural pain reliever that could be worth using considering your age and the amount of pain that you are having.
You might try going here and getting it.
