Rheumatoid Arthritis is not curable but can be treated, my husband has just be diagnosed with this, he has been in pain for 1.5 years. He was at the point of not being able to walk.I had to bath, dress, feed him because he couldn’t use his hands. He has going to so many Dr’s and no one knew what was wrong. We were referred to A Arthritis Specialist. My husband is 50% better. I live in Baltimore Maryland if you are interested in this Dr’s name I will be glad to give it to you. He put my husband on Methotrexate (oral drug) this drug is very powerful, my husband takes 3 pills every Saturday for 3 months, and every 3 weeks he gets a blood test and a liver test. The liver can be affected. I hope you can speak with your wifes Doctor about this drug and he will start her on it. It is called the miracle drug.Believe you me I do know what you are going through and I wish you the best.
There is no cure for rheumatoid arthritis. I have had it for about twenty years and I have had a lot of different medications. I go to a arthritis doctor and he has helped me alot. The pain is always there. Before I started going to the doctor I couldn’t walk and the pain was really bad.
I give my self an injection of embarel once a week. This medicine is very expensive and without Insurance I could not afford it. I also take an oxaprozin pill morning and night. See the right doctor is a step in the right direction. You will have to get blood work about every second month to insure no damage to your organs.
You can’t unfortunately. its an Auto-immune condition where your own bodies immune system attacks perfectly healthy tissue of its own.
There are various things you can do to manage it using natural modalites and exercised when it is not in an active phase is very helpful.
There are incidences where it has gone into spontaneous remission but so far no one has come up with a cure which is successful.
Some drugs also help to manage it as does gold.
I’ve read some encouraging research suggesting diet can help control it.
It needs a multi-disciplined approach with a combination of natural and pharacheutical intervention to manage it correctly.
There are some good Kosher websites with some excellent advice. I suggest reading and researching and trying some of the natural modalities out there but also don’t loose touch with the Rheumatologist.
look up the treatment center for this and other diseases by dr subhuti dharmananda in oregon…
