Best place to live in Arizona?

I am married – no children- have Rheumatoid Arthritis. We are thinking about moving to Arizona. We are looking for best places in Arizona to live. We are not rich, but we are not poor. Any advise would be great!!!

Flagstaff, AZ. It has it all
There is a lot of crime in Arizona, just so you know. Avondale is a pretty nice place to live, it’s relatively cheap as well.
Scottsdale or Mesa. Although Scottsdale is a bit more ritzy. Mostly retirees.
Glendale, Arizona. It is very cheap and the neighbors are quite friendly. I’d say Arrowhead Ranch. I used to live there for ten years but my Dad’s Job transferred him to Phoenix.
Tucson. Not as hot as Phoenix and when the monsoon rains come, boy do they come.

well it depends if you are willing to spend money on location. personally i think scottsdale is the best you have malls, spas, parks, grocery stores, restaurants, the whole shebang and its big enough for stuff like the superbowl and the FBR open but small enough to relax i know because i grew up there and ive been to little towns and big cities to compare to.
but there are many newly emerging places that are a bit cheaper such as glendale, avondale, chandler, all in the phx metro area although they are farther from where everything is going on although that may be what you are looking for.
tucson is basically a college town and full of mexicans (no offense to anyone) not very clean, and north arizona is gorgeous but the cooler temps may not be good for your arthritis.
Well it depends on several things. Are you retired or working? If working, does your job allow you to be in a smaller community? Do you want to be close to lots of cultural things, sports, shopping, etc.? Do you want cooler weather or hotter? Are you outdoorsy and want to do things year round? Can you deal with very hot weather part of the year? If retired, I would pick somewhere cooler like Sedona, Flagstaff, Prescott Valley or Payson area. If you can handle the heat and have to be in a Metro area, go for closer in to PHX or Tucson. I can’t give you too many details without knowing what your criteria are.

I lived there from 1988 to the end of 2006. Let me tell you that I liked gilbert very much because it is family oriented and small enough still compared to all the other cities. I consider it not Scottsdale but not on the low end either.
Check it out! Also I lived in Mesa for many years but now it has gotten so big that it has alot of problems Phoenix has, Also you have pockets of slumy places in between nice places. I wouldn’t go there. Chandler has an upscale area which is the newer part and the old part which is mostly a hispanic community.
Queen Creek i am not to sure about because they overbuilt before the housing bust and the houses are so cheap they probably can’t even give them away.
Lived mostly on the eastern and south eastern side. Don’t know that much about the west side. Hope this helps!
