I got this book hoping to get info beyond the pharmaceutical industry hype and found it to be a pure ad for big pharma. This particular book seems to be a compilation of pharma marketing points.
Right now we are hopeful the drugs will work, but the book gave us no info (that we had not already seen on humira websites) to help with the decision. Maybe the problem is insufficient experience with the product. Whatever reason, save your money, just google the drugs and get the same info in the book.

I was on Enbrel for several years, then Humira, then Remicade. They did not work. My doctor then asked me to try Rituxan which can be fatal. That did not work either. Oh, and it cost $9,000. yes, nine thousand dollars per treatment. What most doctors WON’T tell you (unless you ask) is that your body CAN heal itself! I have had Systemic Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis for more than 27 years (I’m now 40 years old) and I find it sad that you can use a search engine to look up RA, SLE, or pretty much ANY chronic illness and you will have difficulty finding natural remedies unless you specifically ask for them. They easily and readily tell you about prescription drugs though. Alternative medicine books, websites, and doctors tell you how to treat these diseases in a less destructive, more natural way.
My diseases were so serious and refractive that I received last rights in 2006. Due to chronic inflammation and the resulting deformities, I had artificial joints put into my hands at age 35 which is relatively unheard of. Losing all hope in “traditional medicine” I turned to natural alternatives. I now take only OTC drugs like aspirin, Tylenol, or Advil when I have a “bad day”. I got off 13 Rx drugs a day. It wasn’t easy; I moved from NYC where I was born and raised to rural Utah and I feel much better with less stress and low humidity. It took a while for me to feel better and yes, there are still bad days. Not nearly as bad as before though and I don’t have a single daily prescription bottle in my medicine cabinet. PLEASE look for other options; they may be harder to find but they can also dramatically improve your wellness. I am writing this because I know it can be done and I am living proof that a serious case CAN be helped with natural choices.
If doctors would remember their oath to “first do no harm” they would look at the extensive, often devastating side effects and think twice before writing a script that they collect large revenues from. Although they did not work for me, I know these drugs can and do work for some people; I just hope anyone that is considering trying them would have tried each and every alternative/natural/holistic treatment first. Beware your sources there too, as I was referred to a “ND” recently by a friend and I found that 4 year certification is only required in certain states and this person had taken a correspondence mini-course from a reported “diploma mill” and was dispensing advice. This particular “ND” has no certification and the school is not accredited. Be you own detective and question everything. A good start would be a book on WELLNESS. They have a great one here on Amazon and not only did I buy it, it has made the rounds many times over to friends and acquaintances alike. Good Luck!

This is an excellent book. I see Dr. Zashin for Sjogren’s syndrome and he is an excellent Doctor. I found the book to be very knowledgeable.

I found this book extremely helpful in explaining TNF blockers. Being newly diagnosed with RA, I was scared of all the side effects but this book is uplifting and gives hope that you CAN live a normal life. This book is easy to understand and will give you all the information you need to have an intelligent discussion with your doctor. It is important to understand everything about your diagnosis and this is the first step.
