I had a car run over me two years ago and since then I have gotten severe osteoarthritis in both of my knees, feet, hips, lower back and hands. I have no synovial fluid left in my knees and rubbing bone on bone. When I get up in the morning, I have to shuffle because my feet will not function. I think that is all I can explain at this time. Thanks

Does anyone have an experience to share of the use of aloe vera plant in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis?

My Husband Is Unemployed…AGAIN!!?

My husband is unemployed again, this is like 7 jobs in 10 years…I keep waiting for it to get better, but seems it is only getting worse with each passing year.

He will have a job, we get ahead, save a little, plan to buy a house, and then he loses his job…this happens over and over. He restructures companies and bankruptcies…I think what he does is make the companies he works for promises he cannot live up to…to make the company millions, and then he can’t. They then lay him off. I am at my wits end.

I just want a husband (like all my friends do) who is able to provide us a house, savings, retirement, many have vacation homes, travel, etc. We do nothing and have nothing.

had a root canal done on my upper 1st bicuspid (tooth #5) on tuseday the 12th. I had alot of pain druing the root canal because I have issues getting numb. I have 3 other root canals, all done on molars and have had pain during all of them, they were done by a diffrent dds, so yeah im unlucky when it comes to numbness.

Anyways after my 3 other root canals (done yrs ago) i never had any pain afterwards…i was as happy as a clam, no soreness nothing!!!! BUT this root canal hurts like crazy! It was fine the day after but now on the 3rd day the pain is pretty persistant. Its a throbbing heatbeating kinda pain. Also Ive noticed i have some swelling above the tooth in the cheek area. Its tender to the touch (kinda on the side of my nose, where you think the root would be).Its also sore and painful where the gum and cheek meet, above the tooth wher you think the root tiip would be. I went back to the dds yesterday (the 2nd day after the root canal) to have my bite adjusted and told my dds about the pain. He said that that is normal due to the trama and the fact i had pain on biting before the root canal. He also said the bicuspids have extremely long roots that run close to the sinus cavity and the immflamation and swelling adds to the pain in the area. he said my root canals in the back probably didnt hurt becasue there is less blood flow to the back molars and this is close to the front where there is a large bllood flow. He said the pain should go away 2-3 weeks after the root canal..isnt that an awfully long time?I feel like im being paranoid becasue I had no issue with my other root canals after treatment. This guy is my new dds, my old dds who did the amazing 3 other root canals retired. My new dds who did the new root canal has been a dds for 44 yrs in Austin Tx and Ive yet to come across any bad reports on him. He didnt seem concerned at all and other then my pain during the root canal, he gave no sign that there were any complications and that this was a standard root canal.

I have a neice who has Fibromyalgia and Lupus and has been living with it for quite sometime. The medications she takes is Medrol, Imuran, Plaquenil, Boniva and Tylenol #4 (For Pain). She fights with depression and often states that she is in pain ALL THE TIME. While, I do not doubt what she says because she has the physical symptoms. Twisted fingers (such as in Rheumatoid Arthritis), constant swelling, etc. However, here lately, her specialist has prescribed her “muscle relaxers” such as Soma, Neurontin and even Xanax, all of which, she states she has taken 1 or 2 times. When I ask her why doesn’t she take them, she states that she doesn’t like to feel “down”! She states that when taking them she feels drowsy and she feels like she is in another world. And, the next day upon awakening, she doesn’t feel like herself. My question to the yahoo community is, does anyone know of any other medication or any other way to treat this horrible, horrible disease. More recently, she has been talking about not taking her medication at all, NONE OF IT! She states that she is tired of taking all medication and she can’t remember her life without pain! She takes the tylenol #4 3x’s per day (physician ordered) and that does seem to help her somewhat. However, she is seeking a physician in the Michigan area she says that will really, really treat her and not just want to throw more pills @ her. As stated, does anyone in the yahoo community have anymore answers? Maybe there are herbal remedies? Maybe there is another medication that can be suggested? My more urgent concern is that she seems to be sinking deeper and deeper into depression. And from a few of my friends here in the area, I am told that some people with chronic illnesses tend to fight with depression? It never hurts to ask and would greatly appreciate any answers!!!

additional pain medication such as percocet

Sorry if this gets lengthy. Feel free to scroll to the end — the real questions are there. Thank you.

Those of you who know me from R&S are aware that I have rheumatoid arthritis. I’ve been in a blue funk, assumed it was my disease, and sought the help of a therapist. She recommended I speak with the clinic’s psychiatrist, and the diagnosis, when it came back, completely floored me. Me, diagnosed with a mental illness? Impossible. Or so it seemed.

I’ve spent several days learning about this disease, and in doing so, saw my life with a new clarity. The violent outbursts as a youth, running away, quitting school, going through jobs, getting fired repeatedly, alcohol and drug abuse, a suicide attempt … it all fit.
