symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis?

lupus??? help, please!! ?

so, about two years ago i was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.. when they did all the blood tests, they were also positive for lupus, but the doctors never did anything because i didn’t have any ‘outward physical signs’ of it.. well, yesterday i noticed a small rash on my face (across my cheeks) and i sent a picture of it to my mom (who works for a doctor) and she showed it to him and he said it definitely looked like a ‘butterfly rash’ (a symptom of lupus’).. so, now, i’m wondering, how likely is it that it is lupus? i’m really really worried..should i be? or am i worrying over nothing?

He is 46 and it came on suddenly. He really suffers with it. The doc put him on Enbrol?? It’s a weekly injection. We are waiting for it to be shipped to us so he can begin. I can’t help but wonder if there are other options? There is another med he can’t take because he has FLD.Anyone have alternative remedies that may help?

It started out feeling like maybe heartburn, and I had noticed my left shoulder hurting off and on, I thought maybe I just pulled something. Then I began having pain in my whole chest, especially on the left, it would get to the point where I couldn’t breathe, it would just ache and feel tight, and it hurt with every breath I took, like if you go run for a long time in the cold weather, that’s the only way I can describe it. I was still coughing a little bit from a nasty cold I had just gotten over, and I thought “maybe I have pneumonia”, so I ended up going to the ER. The doc there did some chest x-rays, and basically didn’t know what it was, he said he looked at the film and there was a fuzzy spot on the left side of my heart, but he didn’t think it was anything important, but said to wait for the radiology team to look at it the next morning (radiology apparently didn’t find anything either). He mentioned pericarditis, but wasn’t sure if that’s what it was, he sent me home with Motrin, Robitussin, and a zpack (antibiotic), I never did take the Robitussin or the zpack. The pain with breathing has gotten better, but I still have chest pain, all on the left side. I can’t lay on my left side at all, and if I do when I’m sleeping it actually wakes me up and I have to switch positions… but carefully, because at that point I can’t put any real weight on my left arm or make any sudden moves, or it sends shooting pain through my left side. I’ve noticed the chest pain all over the left side, from the front, to the back, to the side, to just above the breast, to just below it, sometimes it hurts in my shoulder, sometimes it feels like a muscle spasm in my back… I don’t know what it is, I don’t know when it’s gonna strike, and I don’t know how long the pain will last or how bad it will be.

I have had chest pain on and off for years, but not like this, it was more of a dull achy pain in the upper left chest up by my shoulder, I had a heart ultrasound done when I was like 18 or 19 and they didn’t find anything wrong, so I just ignored it. I’ve also been seen by a doctor before for it, right around age 21, he too didn’t seem too concerned with it, he said it sounded like some kind of muscle pain and sent me home with some info on his diagnosis, and a prescription for motrin. I never picked up the prescription.

Arthritis/Fibromyalgia pain?..I don’t mean the weak “medical marijuana” stuff..I mean the street stuff (which is probably cheaper lol)…the Gov has to have their piece:S…I really would like to hear experiences with this..Does it help?..drug interactions ..anything..I have a loved one who suffers much pain with not a lot of relief from prescriptions…thanks:)….

We currently have BCBS, but the premium is like 450.00 a month and that is simply killing us. She goes to the doctor and needs medication every month, so we need insurance, not a discount program

I was diagnosed a little more than a year ago with ulcerative colitis, psoriasis, and now rheumatoid arthritis. I am only 25! My other conditions have seem to gone in remission but my arthritis seems to be worsening. I take Humira and it does help tremendously. If I don’t take it , I actually have to use a crutch or cane to walk. My problem is that since my diagnosis I have become inactive and gained weight. I have tried doing mild exercise such as walking but all this flares my knees and hips up so bad that I end up in bed for days. What can I do to lose the 30 pounds I have gained and try to live a life more healthy with activity?

Treating rheumatoid arthritis?

I have a friend that has recently been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. She is in her early forties and her job does require she stay on her feet most of the day.

I know this is not a curable condition but I was wondering if anyone could share some tips with me on how to alleviate some of the symptoms (without drugs).

Thanks in advance.
